Venice, a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood is a series of isles that branch out from Las Olas Boulevard nestled between Colee Hammock and Central Beach. Venice is more commonly referred to, as the “Las Olas Isles” and is a boating, yachting paradise. The Venice area of Fort Lauderdale is one of the reasons why Fort Lauderdale is known as the “Venice of America.”
Venice is located in one of the most “premiere” locations in Fort Lauderdale. While other neighborhoods have had more expensive homes for sale, the perfect location of Venice is undeniable. For anyone that is interested in a waterfront home that is walking distance to both Fort Lauderdale Beach and Downtown, this is it. Las Olas Blvd can become quite a busy street, especially on holiday weekends like Memorial Day and Labor Day, but go, see for yourself. Once you exit off of Las Olas Blvd and into the Isle of your choice, you will notice calm, quite and relaxation almost instantly. It’s sometimes hard to believe you are just a mile from busy downtown Fort Lauderdale in one direction and the busy beach in the other.
When it comes to boating and waterfront homes in Fort Lauderdale, it is extremely important that you know what the clearance level of your boat is. The good news is, Venice neighborhood has no fixed bridges and just about every lot is waterfront property. Venice is primarily comprised of single family homes with the exception of Hendricks Isle, Isle of Venice and a few scattered condos and townhouses along Las Olas Blvd. The community of Venice is further broken down into small neighborhoods that consist of groups of Isles within an area.
