The Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal is certainly why Fort Lauderale is known as the “Venice of America.” Homes are located directly on the Intracoastal and feature no fixed bridges! These homes are extremely desirable and will command a premium compared to other homes that are not on the Intracoastal. The most sought after and expensive homes are the Point Lots. These Lots feature both Intracoastal (or River) and Canal side. The Intracoastal allows for quick access to the Atlantic Ocean making them very convenient for the Yacht and Boaters out there! But Like everything, there are pros and cons to owning a home on the Intracoastal. Some areas of the Intracoastal are wake zones, meaning it’s not ideal to have your boat docked on the Intracoastal side. The Ideal Intracoastal lot, the Point Lot the Canal side for safe boat dock-age.
